1. Welcome Notes
It is Saturday afternoon, and I’m in my office rather than
on a 14er so, for now, the goal status will remain at 9 and
6. Welcome to our 43 new subscribers. I’ll explain the goal
status when I return to my office on August 28th.
I leave for the Vision Fast on Tuesday so I will not be able
to read your emails until I return. Please send them
anyway! I love receiving your input on CTJ and will read
them all with relish when I return.
During the 3 weeks I am away, CTJ will have a revised
format: It will be shorter and contain resources from other
coaches, authors, speakers and ordinary people. Enjoy the
tidbits and let me know how you like them!
Please continue to forward CTJ to your friends, clients,
family and co-workers. I receive emails every week from
people who were forwarded a copy and have now become
subscribers. The Celebration of the Journey of our lives
continues!

The death of fear is in doing what you fear to do.

Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers
Many “experts” say that the biggest, if not the only,
roadblock in life is FEAR. If we can understand the
dynamics of fear and how it controls us, we can break free
from its confines and truly begin to enjoy life and all it has
to offer.
Jeffers begins by talking about that “Chatterbox” inside our
heads which holds us back and tells us that we can’t do
this or that, etc. Often times, our chatterbox is made up of
people’s voices that have had an impact on our lives –
such as family and bosses. Understanding those inner
conflicts within our sub-conscious mind, can help us to
challenge negative thinking.
Jeffers advocates positive self-talk, visualization, and
positive energy fields as tools to overcome those negative
thoughts that have invaded our sub-conscious over our
entire lives.
This book is a classic for “pop-psychology”, and a must
read to understand the dynamics of what holds us back
from getting what we truly want in life. Order it for only

I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was: How
To Discover What You Really Want and How To Get It by
Barbara Sher
This is perhaps one of the most innovative and insightful
books to come along in ages. Barbara Sher takes you on a
journey through your life and helps you to recognize
those inner voices that tell you not to be successful or
happy. According to Barbara, we don’t fear failure, we fear
success. Agreed! Fear is something that we avoid, so you
think that we would avoid failure, but amazingly, we
have plenty of it, and not as much success as we would
like. We actually avoid success and create self defeating
behaviors that hinder our success because we fear what
comes with that success.
Barbara takes you through a series of profiles to help you
identify what your defeatist attitude is, and offers practical
suggestions to help you overcome your self-imposed
challenges. If you are unsure what you want to do in life,
Sher believes that you just need to untap what it is –
because you do know, you just can’t admit it to yourself
because of fear.
If you want to make some positive changes in your life,
read this book – it is highly recommended and easily order
